A single blogger recently relayed comments made by a single Tesla service tech who reportedly knew of five Teslas that were "bricked" by owners who left them off the charger too long. This single unverified report spread like a sensational wildfire across the blogosphere. Tesla came out and acknowledged that it was possible to destroy the Roadster's battery pack by keeping it unplugged but Tesla has employed numerous counter-measures to prevent that from happening.
